Rising Stars: Meet Alanna Bryant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alanna Bryant.

Hi Alanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been a creative person. I was six weeks early at birth just so I could be a part of the most innovative and imaginative star signs there is. Gemini. I didn’t know that then but I do now. I attended the Cleveland School of the Arts in Ohio from 7th to 12th grade.

After graduation, I shortly attended Cleveland Art institute and the recording arts and technology program at the community college. Both programs were great foundations to build upon but I’m more of a hands-on person. I got a very early taste of voice-over work when I was in 3rd grade. My teacher would have me read the books for class on tape so that students who had trouble reading could listen and learn words. That was my introduction to voiceover. I had recorded a book on tape. It would be years later that that would become a billion-dollar business. I was actually able to find my way through the vo business when I recorded a demo and caught the ear of J Pervis Talent. The biggest Casting agency in the southeast. So between being in the studio for songwriting (My true passion) and being in the studio for vo work I spent a lot of time in the studio. To be able to book studio time of course you have to have money so the money I would get a boring 9-5’s working at companies like Home Depot and Delta and a brief stint in the costume department working on Stranger Things, Black Panther and The Resident. In time with God-given talent, hard work and commitment, my VO work would eventually allow me to work from home FT on my music and commercial work.

I released music as an artist in 2018 after a couple of placements on artists like Trina and Jim Jones. My single Goat Cheese even landed a tv sync spot on Blacklightning S4. After that achievement, I decided to start writing my own content so I could feature my music in it. I have written a feature animated films with my partner Devyne Johnson as well as a short film entitled DANK which is coming soon.

So today, I guess you could say I’m a VO Talent, songwriter, rapper, singer, screenwriter, producer, director, creative working to push my ideas out to the world.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
“No road worth traveling will be smooth.” I’m putting that in my book of quotes that I’ve been writing when I think I’ve said something profound. Out later this year. Lol.

I moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Atlanta, GA in 2006. I was a married woman then. In 2008 my seven years of marriage ended in divorce. I had 2 small children at the time so everything I spoke of on the previous page I had to do with Avery (Son) and Aubrey (daughter) and although they were really good kids It was still hard to wear all those hats.

Sometimes the kids would go to the studio with me so I could fit it all in. I also wanted them to see what it meant to go after your dreams and what you believe.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a songwriter, rapper, singer, screenwriter, producer, director and all-around creative. I specialize in vo work, songwriting, and creating. I’m known for being a rapper named Calispeedway and for my old Instagram jingle GETYOURLIFERIGHTWITHALANNA. I’m most proud of creating and putting it out there no matter how long it takes whether it be music, my films or Vo work. I am also the voice of Nature’s Bounty brand, so that’s pretty exciting.

What sets me apart from others is I’m determined to do it all even though they say bad things about a Jill of all trades. As long as I’m creating and keeping it as authentic as possible, I don’t mind being good at a lot of things.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most is getting a chance to share my energy with the world via my music, films, ideas and creativity. It’s important because that’s the only reason we are here, putting ourselves in a position for the chance to give your energy Back to the world. I have saying” the creator created creators.”
