Hi Kayla, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been in the beauty industry for about eight years now. I started off with doing makeup and took a leap of faith in the eyelash industry around 2019.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a business is never a smooth road. As well as with makeup I had to perfect a whole new craft when I got into lashes. I had to practice and gain the trust of clients when offering a new service. There were times when I wanted to give up and just stick to makeup but I knew that wasn’t my only purpose in the beauty industry.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I believe that the beauty industry is an art, we create new looks and paint pictures cosmetically. I’m known for more natural skin-like makeup applications, I don’t like to take away from the natural beauty of my clients but just enhance them. With my lash extensions, I’m known for wispy sets normally called “the Wispy Queen” I love lash looks that look natural and make a client’s eyes pop!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Atlanta, I believe this city screams success and it’s hard not to get into some kind of hustle because it’s so much of it going on around you. I wish everyone could learn to work better together but I know that’s a trait hard to come by. Definitely more of it going on though with all of the boss expo pop-up shops going around lately.
