Conversations with Shiquita James

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shiquita James.

Hi Shiquita, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story is a bit unique. While in the Navy, I was diagnosed with Lupus, having gone through a tenyears battle with Lupus before going into remission (which is rare). One day, while admitted in the hospital, due to a Med the doctor gave me, I died and was brought back, but when I returned I returned with the ancestors and a message to take this journey. Having never dreamed of acting, this became a purpose due to whom I’m being guided by. I’ve been doing this for 3.5 years and I truly love and enjoy doing it with hopes of being a major actress and one day directing. Though I’m doing background right now, I’m pressing to elevate into a having speaking role, but with humbleness and patience, I know that day is soon to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has truly been a smoothly paved road. I often travel the roads less taken because it’s less traffic and distractions.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actress with prior service in the USAF and Retired USN. Many know me for being humble, my dark skin and my genuine heart. I Am most proud of my son and knowing I raised him right. What sets me apart from others is my heart, my energy, vision and understanding of life after having seen the other side.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m a very spiritual individual and so what helps me do my best in life is life experiences, good and bad. I embrace the both the same.
