Check Out DeShanna Hampton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeShanna Hampton.

Hi DeShanna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography started as a hobby for me. I was a stay-at-home mom that needed an outlet. I received my first point-and-shoot camera as a gift, started shooting and I fell in love. I was capturing landscape, A LOT of landscape until my neighbor asked me to snap her son’s prom photos. That was in 2014 and I’ve been capturing everything from babies being born to celebrations to celebrities and politicians. Along the way, I was introduced to filmmaking and that has become a passion for me as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can’t say it has been easy, I struggled with finding my niche, I’ve captured everything I could think of to find my way. There was a lot of frustration in that but I kept going. I chose to stay the course and not give up what I loved so dearly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer/filmmaker. My specialty is lifestyle photography. I’m proud to say that I’ve produced a movie called JUUG GONE WRONG and now I’m Executive Producer/Co-Writer of the upcoming film HEAUX WEEK. Super excited about these projects. I think what sets me apart is my creativity and doing whatever it takes to secure the dopest shots possible.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I am resilient and dedicated.
