Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Townsend.
Hi Kendra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in college after settling on my third major. I decided to go back to my youthful passions: writing, art and fashion. I grew up making clothes for my dolls, playing instruments (guitar, piano and violin) and writing poetry. As an elementary student, one of my poems was submitted by my teacher and selected to be published.
So, I began studying Journalism, concentrating in Public relations and Fashion merchandising. I began to fall in love with graphic design after taking an interior design course… My professor required us to draw virtual elevations of our designs. I also began blogging in college, which I originally thought was all my brand or website would be. I then began to interview local musicians and entrepreneurs and then slowly began to offer services. I began with offering project release consulting, photography, web design and other services to benefit artists. With time I had a broader vision for my brand. Why not also offer small businesses and entrepreneurs a one-stop-shop for their brand consulting and design services.
I now offer social media management services, website development, brand design, logo creation and much more!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Any business owner will tell you that it is most definitely not an easy road! Even now, after reaching many goals and gaining clientele, there are still ups and downs… Good days and bad days, Good weeks and bad weeks, and so on and so forth.
I personally had to begin to correlate my personal brand with my professional brand. Also, staying consistent… seeing growth and then experiencing a downtime can be discouraging.
