Hi Sha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I created Sha Slayage in 2018 with the vision to apply polished quality makeup applications purposefully for imaging such as; weddings, photoshoots, filming, fashion shows, etc. I wanted to emphasize everlasting memories with makeup that will reflect and correct a remarkable transition through different forms of artistry. After my experience working with prestige cosmetic brands, I knew the beauty industry was a place I’d find my passion.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve always had a passion for my art, it has always been my dream to be a traveling professional makeup artist, completing makeup looks for various organizations and establishments. It has by far been one of the best experiences yet. Each day my business motivates me to be a creator and each day, I’ve faced and overcome many challenges.
One of the many struggles I’ve faced while growing my business has been implementing new strategies that would not only attract a local audience but would gradually reach people in different places at different times.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional makeup artist located in Columbia, SC. I service many areas in the U.S, surrounding areas of SC, GA, NC and FL. Sha Slayage is known for applying high-quality makeup and skincare applications that is most suitable for each skin type and/or skin concerns for a healthy and flawless look. Sha Slayage specializes in bridal, filming and on-set makeup. I am most proud of the growth of my business, I have serviced hundreds of people around the world and have been able to connect with other businesses. Sha Slayage is mostly known for its glamorous “Sha Slay” effect, model-enhanced service that is designed to emphasize the beauty of your features. What sets me apart from any other makeup advocate is most of my looks are free-handed. I explore the world of cruelty-free products and my ultimate goal is to make every look unique, all while applying products that your skin could benefit from.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Having support from the people around me is what makes me happy. Being a client, friend or family who sees my ambition and my dedication to be able to do what I love the most motivates me even more. The priceless reactions after services is what sparks my happiness. The beauty industry is filled with diversity and being able to be different and unique in my own way is what I enjoy the most.
