Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharvette Mitchell.
Hi Sharvette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
“WAIT! We can’t print this stuff without putting a website address on it!” Those were the words I said in early 2006 while sitting at the kitchen table of my friend, Edwinette Moses. For the past few hours, we had worked on marketing materials such as business cards, brochures, and magnets for her new and budding business. As we pulled up VistaPrint.com on the computer to see printing options for the materials we created, I had enough foresight to push pause and stop us because I realized that Edwinette needed to put a website address on these marketing materials. We had just one problem, she did not have a website. “I can go figure that out!”
After I created Edwinette’s pink and green website, I turned to helping my church with its web presence. People then started asking me to help them build a website. I did two or three more FREE websites and then I stopped and thought… “Don’t people pay for this? At this point, I realized I had a valid business. I was providing a solution to a problem that people had.
I then stepped into social media consulting because my web design clients needed a “next step” after their website was up and running. I immediately advised of leveraging social media & other marketing activities to get the word out about their company.
I have since discontinued web design services and I now help high-achieving service-based women entrepreneurs position their expertise with a polished visual brand, increase visibility with speaking opportunities, build authority with a published book and convert more customers with elevated content marketing. I do this with my signature Platform Builder® group coaching program and one on one consulting.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have been incredibly blessed in this entrepreneurial journey. One of the main obstacles to entrepreneurship is managing fear. That can be your fear or someone else’s fear. People that do great things don’t do them absent of fear but they move forward in spite of it.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
They say that entrepreneurship is not for the “faint of heart”. I would like to expand that and say that entrepreneurship is not for the “faint of mind”. Mindset plays a daily role in your entrepreneurial journey.
