Hi Taylor, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a natural light lifestyle photographer. I specialize in portrait, and fashion photography. I love the natural art of faces. Our faces and body are a walking canvas. As a portrait photographer, I embrace that. Calling myself “Portrait Queen” has given me confidence because when you believe you are or can be the best at something, nothing will stop you from continuing to get better at what you want to show the world. Confidence but remaining humble is KEY to being respected with your craft. I have so much to learn from photography to running a business, but I continue to give myself credit for what I have accomplished so far. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I don’t think anybody wanting to be the best at their craft should expect a smooth road to success or reaching their own personal goals. I think losing my mom four years ago really put my future into perspective. She passed when I really started to love the art of taking pictures. That’s absolutely when the reality of LIFE hit me. I almost felt as if photography was pointless, of course started to have my doubts with my ability to take a picture. I believe everyone wanting to be an entrepreneur will go through a phase like that. What separates us from everyone else is being able to ignore the negative thoughts that come with the reality of the path that God has put us on and being able to say to yourself, “don’t give up”. Being able to pick yourself up from a dark place and realize that you started your business for a reason.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a natural light lifestyle photographer. I specialize in portrait, wedding, family, and fashion photography. I call myself The Portrait Queen. I love faces, that might sound weird but it’s the truth. I love capturing a face because I believe we are art. Our faces anybody is our art. We should embrace it. Every other photographer that believes they take an amazing portrait should say the exact same about themselves. Confidence but remaining humble is KEY to being respected with your craft. I have so much to learn from photography to running a business, but I continue to give myself credit for what I have accomplished so far. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Very spunky, loving, and emotional! I wear my emotions on my sleeves, and I love to love people! I have learned to love & appreciate that about myself. To all my emotional people that love to love, I feel you!! Keep spreading love and happiness, regardless of circumstances.
