Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliyah Perry.
Aliyah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My business started in Nov 2018. I went to a beauty convention and seen a lipgloss-making stand thought it was neat. I then went home did research and made lipgloss. I posted the glosses for myself and my audience on Facebook wanted some four years later I hit 5 figures. I started my influencer journey in Jan 2022. I got hacked on Instagram and had to make a new one. I posted the health of my hair & some content. Within the first two months, brands contacted me to collaborate.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My business journey has most definitely not been easy! I lost my dad due to cancer in 2020 but my business helped me get through the grief. I also lost business friends along the way due to jealousy. But I wouldn’t be who I am today without my business, trials and tribulations so I’m grateful for my journey.

My business is my baby! I hand-make quality lipgloss, sell mink lashes & croc charms as well as a few other cosmetics products. My business is known for the butterfly theme. I chose to base my branding on butterflies because of all the people I have lost close near and dear to my heart. Butterflies have sentimental value in my life so I wanted to honor my loved ones. I’m most proud of never giving up, even after so many tribulations trying to get the way of my business.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Due to covid, I learned there’s enough money out for everyone.
