Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Chavarría.
Hi Gabriela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always wanted to do something but I didn’t know what it was. I was working full-time as a Staffing Coordinator for a Home Health Agency when I felt that my season there was coming to an end. I was there for about fours years. 2017-2021. Once I left, I really wanted to start something new. My husband encouraged me to either start a business or find something that I was passionate about. The beginning of 2021, I was really asking God for direction and guidance on what to do next in my life. In February, the idea of having a podcast came to my mind. I wanted to have a platform and space where I could share real-life experiences/stories of either close friends or myself. We often think we are the only ones going through difficult situations but the reality is that we all go through it. I wanted to create a podcast where we could be vulnerable and transparent. Once I shared the idea with my husband, he was very supportive and immediately started buying microphones and equipment. My husband became my co-host. We launched our first episode “Dreams” on March 29th. It’s been over a year, I’ve had people write to me from other states and telling me how my podcast has been a blessing to their lives.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
As everything, we start so motivated and we feel like we are at the top of the world. And then suddenly, you begin to question yourself if you are even good enough to do this. It’s not always easy bringing encouragement when you face different situations but I’ve learned that it is worth speaking about and they are necessary to shape our character and make us better. We just have to trust and believe that God is doing something beautiful in us and through us.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a podcast host, I’m also the marketing director for my husband’s real estate team. I specialize in serving my community, I serve in my local church. Something that I’m very proud of is that although starting something new can be challenging and scary, I’ve moved forward into the unknown. The things that have been on the other side of the uncertainty have been so rewarding and such a blessing to my life! To know that my podcast has been a blessing to others is so satisfying! And even when I don’t hear any feedback, I still have to move forward believing that I am doing what God has called me to do! I enjoy encouraging people! I think that sets me apart, I genuinely want people to succeed and be happy. I’m known for being a very positive, genuine and transparent person.
What makes you happy?
I find contentment in the small things. If we don’t enjoy the small things, we will never enjoy the big things. But something that makes me happy is seeing people have an encounter with Christ. That gives me so much joy! It brings so much happiness to me when someone is healed, restored, forgiven & saved! It makes me happy because that’s my purpose! My desire is for others to know Jesus the way I do. To experience miracles and blessings the way I have.
