Today we’d like to introduce you to Ngiana Moshi (Chef Moshi).

Hi Ngiana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a deep-rooted love for cooking and the culinary arts. I remember distinctly being a ten-year-old girl standing on a stool in my mother’s kitchen carefully studying her as she seamlessly used and combined harvested ingredients from our home garden to produce decadent meals and drinks that stayed true to our African, Indian, and Middle Eastern-infused culture.

After working in different industries, I realized that that exposure had imparted something profound in me from that young age and created a longing for cooking that could no longer be averted. That is when I decided to drastically switch careers and join a Culinary Arts School to further solidify my culinary knowledge.

After graduating and working with a few established chefs, and volunteering for a variety of chef projects, I got a better understanding of this field and started my Chef Services business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In this business, there is a multitude of stressful factors that occur behind the scenes from different requests and/or last-minute changes to bringing a beautiful plate to your table. It can be uncomfortable, but nothing of value and impact in life comes easy. Planning and preparation ahead of the week can position my work week to a great start.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Chef Moshi is a personal meal preparation business that focuses on providing the best quality organic savory and sweet cuisines. This business aids busy individuals and families with healthy meal preparations every week, bi-weekly, or monthly according to their palate preferences, health requirements, and allergies by utilizing personally tailored menus.

Chef Moshi brings out my unique culinary perspective with a twist by using a variety of ingredients to get customers excited about food again and hopefully get them away from the usual cycle of monotonous everyday meals.

My customers are individuals who have an adventurous palate and an open mind, and can fully relish my cuisines, which are international fusion meals drawn from the American, African, Italian, Indian, and Middle-Eastern cultures with recipes that are healthy, hearty, and full of flavor while also telling a rich, spicy story of their exotic origins.

I am most proud of the services that I have been able to create for my customers. I have been able to design various personalized meals for my customers; all of my recipes are personal creations that have sprouted from experiences garnered from fervent explorations of different types of worldly cuisines.

What I believe sets me apart from others is that I am my brand – “Chef Moshi”. It’s my personality and my story as an African Chef from Tanzania, who produces a fusion of African and International Cuisines based on personality, culture, perspective, influences, travels to different countries, and my cooking style. I embody my brand. I bring out my unique perspective with a twist when I cook with ingredients that I am familiar or unfamiliar with and get to be an honored guest in other people’s lives with my meal preps. My clients get excited about food again and hopefully, release them from the usual repetitive everyday meals.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Chef Moshi’s goal is to bring out a unique culinary attitude and experiences with a twist by using a variety of ingredients to get customers excited about food again and hopefully get them away from the usual cycle of repetitive everyday meals and the best possible personal services for my customers, but also maintaining a work-life balance.
