Today we’d like to introduce you to Landyn Robinson.
Hi Landyn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started doing hair when I was 12 in Buffalo NY. I started during back-to-school time for my little sister then it progressed to the whole street getting their hair done by me. From there I fought my gift not knowing if this is what I actually wanted for myself. Fast forward to 2022 I am a hairstylist in Buckhead, I have celebrity clientele, I have been published in magazines.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all lol. This journey to being a hairstylist has took a mental and physical toll. The early mornings and late nights take a toll on your body. The mental part I struggled with is just knowing I’m going to be ok at all times. This is all I have if this plan falls through what do I have to fall back on, so I just continue to keep a level head and instead of worrying about what’s next or bad I just go with the flow.
We’ve been impressed with Glammorous Hair, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am Landyn and I am the owner and operator of GlammorousHair. GlammorousHair is my baby I’ve been working on this since I was a child. About 12 years old I knew hair was my passion and this was going to be my way out. I specialize in natural hair care (sew-ins, ponytails, quickweaves, silk press). I’ve been known for my Leave out sew-ins or quick weave. The way I blend hair to look natural has been the eye-catcher for a lot of people. The way I pay attention to the little detail or even just the experience you are going to get from being in my chair has caught so much attention. What I feel sets me apart from other stylists is the way I care about my clients. I literally go above and beyond to make sure they enjoy anything I’m doing. I take into consideration how they feel, I ask them questions on what they want and study what they like so they know I got them always. I’m proud of my growth, I moved to a new city with no clients literally not one and now almost two years later of doing hair, I have a full clientele of consistent clients. I offer subscription packages, as well as single appointments.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
