Meet Keturah Rosato of Momentum Woman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keturah Rosato.

Hi Keturah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off as a high school teacher who just wanted to give my children a different story than the struggles I inherited in life, however, in 2013, after experiencing some major life-altering shifts, I set out on a three-year-long journey where I had to reassess my life’s path, my career, relationships and all of the pursuits that were tied to my understanding of what success really meant.

As I started to reprioritize many areas of my life, I realized that I had what held me back or kept me feeling stuck, no matter how hard I tried, was my mindset in specific areas that were tied to challenges that kept me in this mental survival mode. This realization led to me sharing my journey, as well as the wins I was experiencing along the way.

During this time, I was doing the inner work while simultaneously receiving the professional training that would allow me to add value to people’s lives as a clinical therapist.

As a therapist, I work with youth and families who are experiencing difficulties due to complex traumatic events in the home. As a speaker, coach, and emotional fluency advocate, I help my clients unlock their potential using personal development tools and modalities to identify and transcend the limitations that stand between them and their expressed goals.

As my work evolved, I was then inspired to write a book in the genre of personal development that I believe will help so many people. The book is called Thou Shalt Flourish and in it, you will find Ten Proven Mindsets to Embody Lasting Freedom & Success. The book comes out in December 2022 and I surely can’t wait to share this with the people who need it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has certainly NOT been a smooth road. I have had major restructuring in my family and now as my children are entering into adulthood, my role as a mother is changing tremendously. I am married to a business owner who also is a spiritual leader so there are roles that I end up assuming by default.

When it comes to work/life/family etc. balancing those roles on top of work and family can be difficult but not impossible. We all can benefit from sharpening our skills a bit, but I think what makes the biggest difference is doing something that you are passionate about and in love with because that passion fuels you.

Another challenge is sometimes finding community where you can grow and be vulnerable at the same time. In leadership, that can be difficult at times because when you are in a role such as mine, there are many expectations that naturally get placed on you and you have to know when to balance being vulnerable in the right place at the right time and with the right people.

My biggest challenge is navigating the needs of my children in a way that speaks to them. Since most of my work is tied to helping people better their lives, I never want to overstep in my children’s lives because I want to give them room to grow, learn and make their decisions on their own. People come to me “wanting” my help and if can sometimes feel a little bittersweet when you hear your child say, “I got it mom”. But I have to respect that and be proud too because I trained them to be that way.

Overall, I can say that our biggest obstacles to experiencing a life that is marked by meaningful and lasting success are the stories we tell ourselves and the beliefs that we perpetuate about what is and isn’t possible for us. But truly, if we examine these stories and beliefs, we oftentimes will find that at the heart of these narratives are excuses that keep us safe in our comfort zones.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Momentum Woman Inc.?
I started training for women called Momentum Woman Unleashed. It is a 16-week transformation program for woman entrepreneurs and leaders who know they are called to do meaningful work that allows them to give back in some way but feels overwhelmed by all of the other demands that life throws at them.

I help them narrow down the overwhelm and turn it into actionable steps that become the blueprint for achieving their expressed goals related to bettering themselves, their business, or their relationships.

What sets me apart from many of the people who do complementary work is my own lived experience and more importantly, the many years of experience in the three areas that I have worked. (Teaching, social work and personal development).

These three areas of expertise enhance the work that I do individually and in groups because all three areas take a unique approach to personal growth that when I teach or train, gives my clients a competitive edge that many others in this industry lack because they only know what they know in one field or discipline.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality I feel is most essential to my success is the constant hunger to learn. Like one of my mentors says, when you teach it, you learn it twice, and I believe that when a person is as open to learning as they are to teaching, they are destined for great things.
