Rising Stars: Meet Te’Asia Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Te’Asia Williams.

Hi Te’Asia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi everyone! I’m Te’Asia and I’m a Makeup Artist in the Atlanta area. My journey started back in high school, I just remember never leaving my house without my mascara on and a little shimmer shadow in the corners of my eyes. Lol I’ve always been a less is more kind of girl. That continued on in college (GGC) where I would help my best friend & other models by doing their makeup for the school’s “Rip the runway” fashion shows.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I can say it’s been relatively smooth. It always feels smooth when I’m booked and busy but the moment it slows down, I sometimes feel like I should be doing more. In doing that, I start to overwork myself. It can get a little difficult to find the work/life balance, it’s very easy for work to become your life.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a freelance Makeup artist that specializes in soft natural glam with a skin-like finish. I’ve worked with models on photoshoots and backstage at multiple fashion shows in Atlanta during ATL fashion week. The main thing I’m proud of is my customer service. I’ll offer my clients refreshments, make sure they’re comfortable, and throughout the makeup process, I’m checking on them to make sure that I’m giving them their desired look. The ability to make someone feel beautiful by the time they leave me is one of the best feelings in the world to me.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
For me, taking risks pushes my creativity. I’ve only really taken risks in my art, not really in my business. In order for me to take any risks in my business I would have to strongly weigh my options. I don’t like making off-the-cuff decisions.
