Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Lee.
Hi Felicia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I began my journey almost twenty years ago. It is so hard to believe that I am stepping into my 40th year of life later this month. I started my own non-for-profit community organization L.A.C.E.S Inc that began as a Women’s Empowerment Organization.
Which provided Mentoring services to youth, charity work that catered to those in need, elderly within the community, advocacy around issues such as stopping the violence, community advocacy, and community events. Since then, I have revamped the L.A.C.E.S Inc brand to empowering and memorable event planning under the new name of Must Be Fee.
Everyone always asked people who post to their social media from my events whose event it that? or they would say oh wow this is so beautiful it must be fee. Which compelled me to rebrand and change the LACESINC label to Must Be Fee.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part it has been a smooth road. I will not complain about the struggle areas of the process, because it made me who I am today.
Nevertheless, I believe that I was ahead of my time for many of my initiatives. Yet when God puts something on your heart it does not matter who is with you or against you.
He brings an entirely different kind of support and following that you could not have ever imagined.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a creative. I am known for creating some of the most memorable experiences that are needed, not wanted, for all ages. My youngest guest at an event is a toddler and the eldest is well into their 90s. I cater to all.
I create Experiences that will be a part of my guest memories and history for years to come. Paired with beautiful themes.
I like to say that I create experiences, I stopped referring to them as events years ago, because these events are not your ordinary vibe.
I create from love, from fantasy and from the depths of my heartstrings. The events that people could not fathom yet inspire.
I am most of every single event, yet I would have to say that my annual themed Father Daughter dance, Adult Prom Mother Son dance, Women’s Empowerment brunches, and the Daytime Derby are staples of the Must Be Fee brand.
What sets me apart from others is that I stay in my lane. I create there as well. I never compare I do what comes natural to me. Even the most craziest ideas that I had have inspired so many people to recreate and capitalize off of it.
Yet what I love the most is that whenever I open my social media the photos that you see people using to wish their loved ones a happy birthday, Anniversary, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day or any salutation or homage to someone.
Are all photos from my experiences. That shows that I am a part of their memories and history. Memories they can look back and reflect on which always delivers beautiful memories.
I like to say “if you see it on your timeline then it MustBeFee”
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My name actually means happy. Felicia Ileana Happy in Latin. I am naturally a happy vibe.
Yet everyone calls me sunshine. If you ask anyone who has come in connection with me who I am, they will say she is so happy, such a good spirit, always uplifting and lending a helping hand.
I base my success on happiness not on wealth or material gains but off of my happiness and hope I am able to make people feel when they come in connection with me. I am most successful when I am happy.
I am happy to be living when so many people lost their lives during the pandemic.
I am happy to have a huge loving family.
I am happy to be able . . .
I am happy that GOD favors me., supports me, covers me, instills in me these amazing ideas and gifts that I turn into love and experiences.
