Inspiring Conversations with India Freeman of India Nicole Unltd

Today we’d like to introduce you to India Freeman.

Hi India, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Have you ever had a burning desire that kept you up at night or greeted you every morning when you wake?

This has been my personal experience for as long as I could remember. I’ve spent years studying, planning, and talking about my vision. I wasn’t really clear in the beginning on what exactly that was or even how I was supposed to execute it, but I knew God had a calling and plan for my life. In hindsight, I understand that I had to go through everything I’ve gone through to be ready to manage the blessing when it comes. I had the knowledge, gifting, and skill, but I honestly didn’t possess the character to manage or maintain what God was trying to do in my life. It’s funny how in the very area of your life you’re weak in—God will build you up only for you to be a blessing to others with the same affliction. I lived my life stressed, and I lacked emotional intelligence as a result of the childhood & adult trauma I had experienced. I thought my purpose and calling was to serve in the traditional church, so I became a minister, but God was calling me outside the box of religion. I heard it so clearly “You are a spiritual midwife”. It took me a while to come to grips with my calling, so I ran and stayed busy to avoid it. God has a way of allowing things to happen in our lives to get our attention! 2017 was the year my life changed, and I received a major wake-up call! I had a heart attack at the young age of 32 from stress! My marriage ended, I lost everything, and God called me to a new city. I had no plan and no savings, but I moved to Charlotte, NC, on faith.

Little did I know God was moving me from the familiar so that I could receive a hard reset. I spent an extensive amount of time healing, loving on myself, and becoming self-aware of my own inner demons. I truly learned how to embrace the art of self-care in the process. Now that I’m back in my hometown, I feel the need to help my people like never before. I understand now that what I experienced was so much bigger than me. My testimony and transparency led me to write a book and launch a whole brand to encourage and empower the collective to heal as I did. My first memoir “Crazy Ain’t Cute” A POV guide to stepping out of toxic cycles into peace & prosperity will be available at the top of 2023. It is my sincere prayer that it will be a blessing to the collective. No, I’m not a certified life coach nor am I a therapist. However, I am India Nicole, Decatur, GA Native, Spiritual Midwife, Hope Dealer, Mother to 2 dope teenagers, CEO of India Nicole Unltd LLC, Author, and owner of J & L Craving Confections a mobile bake shop inspired by my son Jaden and daughter London.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Being in the spiritual business and dealing with people can be challenging and draining if you allow it. I had to learn along the way that everyone is not my assignment and that every battle is not mine to fight. I had to learn how to set and stick to my boundaries. I’m so grateful for my tribe and those who genuinely support me and pour into me. Often times we pour all the contents from our cup and have nothing left for ourselves. Learning the art of self-care and surrender has taught me how to keep my cup filled so that I’m only pouring from my overflow. This ensures that I am effective in my work and personal life while maintaining peace and harmony.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My brand is a reflection of my God-given purpose. I have been called to serve the collective as a spiritual midwife and hope dealer, helping people P.U.S.H (Persist Until Shift Happens). It is my absolute pleasure to help intentional Believers grow in faith, peace, self-awareness, and love. Like most of you, I’ve experienced my share of trauma, brokenness, and bad decisions. All of which kept me in cycles that ultimately did not severe me. On my journey, I’ve discovered that often throughout life’s highs and lows a hard reset is needed to restore the things of God in your life. I had to surrender a yes for change in my life and allow God to strengthen me in the process of believing and doing the work to be a better India. Now, my mission is to serve while being a catalyst for true change and restoration by helping the collective do the same. I’ve created a line of products that will aid the intentional Believer in their restoration efforts. The Ultimate Self-Care Journal is now available on Amazon and indianicole.com. Prayer work, energy healing, and restorative sessions will also be available to book on the website. Although my business is new, I’ve been operating in my purpose for years. Before the brand or the LLC, my family and I were in the streets of Atlanta providing resources for the less fortunate and offering hope for the hopeless. People are my passion and I desire to see them walking and operating in peace and purpose, it is my Divine Mandate to be a conduit for healing and that is what sets me apart from others.

And the cherry on top is that I can bake my buns off. My love for cooking and baking was inspired by my late grandmother Frances Freeman. Her restaurant “Frances Country Cafe” was a staple in metro Atlanta in the mid-’90s. I feel like I embody her every time I’m in the kitchen, so my food and baked goods are filled with a double portion of love. When my children were toddlers I decided to create a stream of income for myself that would allow me to spend more time with them. So I followed in my grandmother’s footsteps and started catering desserts. My children’s love for cupcakes, especially my grandmother’s red velvet recipe was the spark I needed to start a mobile bake shop.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice to anyone starting out is to stay consistent and be intentional about what it is you want! Always speak life into your vision and to yourself, even during challenging times. Remember to whom much is given much is also required. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who possess the capacity to understand your vision and will help push you to see it come to fruition. Surrender to the process, the good, the bad, and indifferent, and trust in knowing everything is working for your highest good. If I knew what I know now back when I first started, I would have definitely been more clear about my vision. It took some fine-tuning and I’m still working through the kinks, but I’m building momentum in my entrepreneurial endeavors and for that, I’m grateful.
