Today we’d like to introduce you to Virgil Wilson.
Hi Virgil, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a child, I always had a wild imagination! I grew up loving music & understood at a very young age that music helped me to express myself in so many ways & helped to build my confidence.
I am an extremely driven & passionate entrepreneur. I’m 35 years old & I began my career in the celebrity entertainment industry in 2009. I set the industry on fire bringing a positive approach to my celebrity media outlet Raw Hollywood as I gave readers celebrity interviews & red carpet coverage from high-profile awards shows. In 2014 I entered the world of public relations as I launched DCT Entertainment/PR Firm. I worked with new artists & celebrities to help them grow their brands & bring their projects to the masses. After spending time being a celebrity publicist I became a makeup artist & then launched my cosmetics company Opulent Beauty Cosmetics in Summer of 2018.
My main mission has always been to live out my wildest dreams & to inspire others to never give up no matter what obstacles they face. As someone who is a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I do my best to be a beacon of hope for my fellow brothers & sister of the community.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In the beginning of my career in the entertainment industry, it was hard breaking into it because I was unknown & had no industry connections to build my platform. From the very beginning, I knew exactly what I wanted to be within the industry & worked many late nights & early mornings to achieve what made me genuinely happy. In the beginning, I heard some no’s but that didn’t stop me. I kept going & perfecting my craft & over time all my efforts we’re beginning to receive recognition.

I am a jack-of-all-trades entrepreneur.
With my media outlet, I specialize in bringing celebrity news to my readers while also creating a positive platform without all the unnecessary gossip.
I am known for my celebrity interviews. I try my best to bring a fresh approach to all of my content.
I am most proud of working so hard to the point I was granted access to cover the red carpet at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards in Miami. That moment was a true dream come true for me personally & professionally.
What sets me apart is that I am my authentic self. I am always growing mentally & spiritually.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe that oftentimes we hear & see the success stories but don’t fully grasp the behind-the-scenes struggles that people go through to become successful.
There were times I didn’t have a lot of money, but my drive for success pushed me in a way that I wasn’t going to stop until I got what I deserved & worked hard for. On the journey to success, you have to take risks because for me it helped to prove just how badly I want to see my dreams come true.
