Today we’d like to introduce you to Peyton Bolling and Stephanie Zohouri.
Peyton and Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We met while teaching at a local elementary school. We worked in classrooms right next door to one another and became fast friends. Together, we started planning small parties for friends and enjoyed spending time together while flexing our creative muscles. As we were ending the 2021 school year we began discussing our plans for the future. We both decided that we were ready to leave the classroom and venture into the small business world. It was a scary transition for us to leave the stability that we had known through teaching, but we knew that owning our own business, managing our own time, and working together was crucial for our long-term happiness. In the summer of 2021, we began our event planning company named Platinum Peach Events.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working as small business owner has certainly come with its fair share of challenges. We are continuing to work on creating a work-life balance because we often find ourselves working 7 days a week and late into the evenings. We’ve relied heavily on the advice and experience of other small woman-owned businesses in our local area to guide our decisions. We’re both married and are working to make sure that this business that we’ve built supports our family rather than takes us away from them. Not to mention that the event planning industry is heavily saturated so we’ve had to get creative and personal with our potential clients to prove to them that we are the best fit for their needs. Overall, we are so grateful for the support of our family, friends, and small town of Gainesville, GA. Without their support, we’re sure that our business would not be as successful as it has been!
