Exploring Life & Business with AJ Booker of STUSA

Today we’d like to introduce you to AJ Booker.

Hi AJ, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
STUSA started in Warner Robins Ga as a group name for me and my friends in high school. As we all grew up and went to our separate colleges to further our education and pursue our love for sports, we made sure to keep the group name alive. So while I pursued my degree at Valdosta State, my brother and best friend AD began to resell shoes. As he began to gain traction as a reseller, he named the resell business StusaKicks. What started as a small investment in my brothers resell dream has now blossomed to a fully staffed and operating Consignment shop that specializes in new and used shoes, clothes, and electronics. And we are currently launching our own in house apparel brand…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road.. if I had to look at it holistically, I would say no. But nothing good comes easy. The biggest obstacle I would say would be the growing pains we face as we improve how the business functions and runs for both our customers and consignors. We have been testing out different systems and softwares to not only improve the consignor experience but the buying and shopping experience as well.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about STUSA?
Here at STUSA not only is it our goal to provide exceptional value and customer service but to create an authentic convenient, and safe community for our STUSA members. By spearheading our marketing campaigns, apparel, and brand development, I specialize in the financial growth and public relations. With our family-oriented structure, we strive to not only set ourselves apart with our philanthropic services but our vested involvement in the sports and entertainment realms as well. It is very fulfilling to see our in-house apparel come to fruition with our first STUSA apparel collection. Going into the apparel space has been a goal and dream of mine for years. STUSA is open to new consignors and looking to have additional store locations in 2023.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Favorite childhood memory would be playing rec football. Not knowing those childhood friends and teammates I had back then would one day be my best friends and business partners.
