Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmine Walker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Walker.

Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started off just doing makeup on myself. I always loved the joy and confidence makeup gave me. I wanted to give others that same feeling. When we shut down for Covid-19 I used that time to study makeup and purchase products. I then used models just to practice on different skin types. I finally got the confidence to accept clients. I don’t regret it at all! I’m still learning and growing along the way

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t at all. I sell products as well. The process and money invested in this industry is a lot. You have to prepare yourself for anyone that comes in your chair. Everyone’s face is different, and everyone has different expectations. You constantly have to work on your craft and keep up with different trends

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a makeup artist and I specialize in natural glams. I love to enhance beauty and not make you look like a completely different person. This catches the attention of brides, clients for photoshoots and video shoots. I take pride in the service I give my clients which keeps them coming back.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be going to Disney World with a lot of my family members. We love to ride rides so we went to theme parks often, but my favorite was when a lot of us got to go and experience it.
