Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Miles.
Brandy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved and studied photography. It’s been a hobby of mine for many, many years. I decided to officially start my photography business in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. After a lot of prayer and conversations with my husband and family, I quit my corporate job to launch my business so that I could have the flexibility in my schedule to support my children while they were home, navigating through virtual school.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think with any new endeavor, there will be unfamiliar territory. When I decided to become an entrepreneur, I definitely didn’t expect it to be a walk in the park by any means. I was aware that this journey would be different from what I was used to doing every day for over 20 years, however, I knew what I was capable of. I understood my assignment and my purpose with this gift. I embraced challenges as opportunities to make my business and my craft even better for my clients and for myself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I actually don’t believe in luck. I believe as an entrepreneur, in taking risks – stepping outside of my comfort zone. For me, understanding the risks vs the rewards, especially when it aligns with my goals for my business, have proven to be beneficial for me. Also, having phenomenal mentors in this field, who are genuinely rooting for my success, has helped me to be consistently driven and passionate about being a personal branding photographer.
