Today we’d like to introduce you to Solomon (Solo) White.
Hi Solomon (Solo), please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Well after purchasing my dream car; a Dodge Charger, I got into the car scene. Yes, I know…everybody likes the charger ha but it was my favorite car.
I started attending car shows and that’s when I first realized what was going on with the vinyl wraps. There were so many unique cars and I became intrigued on how someone could make a drastic change to their vehicle without getting it painted.
I managed to get my hands on some vinyl and after spending hours practicing on a few cars i told myself that this could be a valuable skill to learn.
Shortly after that, I organized my business, did tons of research & spent a couple thousand on professional training. I’ve been working to deliver quality work and service ever since. I love it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
By no means has this been an easy process. There was a lot I needed to learn about business and selling services. Let alone the fact that every car I worked on was a completely new experience; testing my skills and knowledge.
One of my main struggles is marketing. I’m still learning but with any business attracting customers is one of the most important things. People need to know you even exist. That’s why I genuinely appreciate this opportunity to be featured in your magazine.
Besides that, I’ve managed to face every bump in the road with optimism and resilience.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Solo’s Customs is a local customs shop that specializes in vehicle wraps and is expanding into areas such as tint, signage, and business marketing. With over eight years in luxury customer service experience, one of our main goals in addition to providing quality wrap work is providing quality customer service. The service and availability we provide to our clients is what make us stand out. The goal is to over deliver.
As a relatively new businessman and wrapper, I’m so proud of the little things. Every time someone entrusts me with their vehicle, I’m more than grateful. So I treat every vehicle like my own. And I work long hours and late nights to make sure my clients are good.
Any big plans?
There are a few things I’ve been working on. Of course one of those things is expanding the business and offering more services. I’ll be adding tint services here soon and I’ve begun the process of networking and supporting other business as well. I believe there a lot of new business people in Atlanta like myself who I can network with to provide a more rounded experience and service to my clients. There’s more than enough business to go around and the relationships you make can benefit everyone.
I hope to one day get a lot of the up-and-coming vinyl wrappers connected so that we can offer wrap-based events for not only the car community but even the average person here in Atlanta.
We can go farther when we work together.
