Inspiring Conversations with Ebony Harris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Harris.

Hi Ebony, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started as a young kid, I had an eye for entrepreneurship and business. I did not have any of my family or anyone in my inner circle to be successful business owners to model or follow after. I decided to create my own wave.

One of my first toys was a cash register. I would pretend like I was ringing up customers in my own store. As a young child, I had an eye for purses and shoes. I loved to accessorize. February 2016, I started my own online store called 91 Degreez. My goal was to sell fashionable clothes, shoes, purses and accessories. In recent years, I decided to focus on fashion items I’m more passionate about which are hoodies and sweatshirts, graphic tees, and purses.

As a teenager, I was introduced to real estate through a family business. As I got older, I grew a love for it myself even more. I was intrigued with the start-to-finish process of new construction homes and the interior designing of it all. In 2017, I decided to pursue real estate and get licensed in the state of South Carolina. I hang my license with The Property Bar, LLC, which is a boutique brokerage that gives top-shelf service. November 2022, I am a dual licensed realtor and now able to practice real estate in the state of North Carolina.

I have literally grown up with technology, the internet, and social media. Since getting my first social media account, I have had an eye for digital designing. I have even grown my businesses through social media marketing. November 2021, I decided to become a YouTuber by vlogging my everyday life through business and real estate. I have grown my channel to over 1700 subscribers in a year. I became a part of the YouTube Partnership Program in less than a year.

One of my goals is to become a very successful serial entrepreneur. I will not stop until that goal has come to pass.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. As I have said before, I had no one to follow or model. Building a business from the ground up comes with a lot of trial, error and research. Learning how to cost-effectively grow my businesses, managing my systems, and work and life balance has been quite the challenge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Realtor, 91 Degreez, EbonyToldYou-YouTube?
I’m a dual licensed realtor in NC and SC. I mainly specialize in first-time homebuyer transactions, but I am not opposed to assisting in the selling side of real estate. I love assisting my clients in one of the most important transactions they will experience. What sets me apart from others is that I make sure my clients are educated throughout the real estate transaction. I love for my client’s experience in purchasing or selling real estate to be seamless as possible.

91 Degreez is an online clothing boutique brand that stands out with some quirky and funny sayings that I am sure that you would be able to relate to. I am proud of the growth that my brand has taken as a whole.

EbonyToldYou is my social media brand. My YouTube and Instagram is just a window view of my life, personality and my businesses through retail and real estate. I am so proud of the rapid growth my social media brands have taken in such a short time.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the real estate industry, I see it changing in a positive direction. More people are educating themselves about real estate and being more comfortable with the process. I see more people being able to buy and sell real estate at a more rapid pace than before.

In the online retail business industry, I do not see it going anywhere anytime soon. People gravitate more to the convenience of online shopping rather than visiting a brick-and-mortar store.

In the social media industry, I definitely do not see it going anywhere either. It connects you to people that you have not talked to in a while or people you would not normally meet in your everyday life.
