Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Looney.
Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m the owner of AGH photography. I started photography as a hobby taking photos of my family and children. I have three beautiful children who keep me busy. I’m a mother, educator, and photographer. I was inspired by my friends who are photographers who became mentors to me. I’ve enjoyed growing my photography business by meeting new clients, learning new photography skills, and being creative in my photo sessions. This past year, I have decided to help my good friend, Dana Geller, to promote her beautiful ten-acre horse farm into photography location for photographers to bring their clients for their photo sessions throughout the year. This beautiful location, OpenRoad Farm LLC, is located in Watkinsville, Georgia.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are positives and negatives with any business. The positives with building AGH photography learning how to manage your time, communication with clients, patience, and having fun. At the beginning stage, I wasn’t sure if I had the full commitment to schedule the time for photo sessions. My children were young and trying to figure out my schedule. When I started my first mini-session events, I enjoyed the setting up for my clients and having fun taking their photos. In addition, I’ve enjoyed working with Dana Geller starting OpenRoad Farm LLC this year. There is no stress! We’re two teachers working together promoting this beautiful photography location for photographers to have space, natural light, shade, creativity, and having fun taking photos.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a full-time teacher. I’ve worked in Prek through 12th grade in a private school. I have taught in Special Education in public schools. I’m getting my Master’s degree in teaching and learning. I enjoy teaching all grade levels. The subject I love to teach is Science. I’ve organized School Science Fair for my students to compete at grade level.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love to read mystery novels.
