Today we’d like to introduce you to Shan Brown.
Hi Shan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I was born in NY originally but traveled around for most of my childhood. Eventually landed in Fayetteville, NC where I went to college to study Audio engineering, just moved to ATL in 2020 to pursue a career in the arts.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, there have been a lot of difficulties and genuine hard moments, mastering your craft introduces so many unique challenges but the successes by large outweigh those problems. For each troubling moment, you just have to remain vigilant and stay committed to see your way through.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a visual/audio artist and my specialty is videography. As a visual artist, I am most proud of the 1st music video I ever shot because I had so many hurdles at the very beginning finding locations and learning how to edit quickly. As a musician, I am most proud of some of the work I am recording recently but haven’t quite released yet. Since I have a diverse creative palette, my projects tend to have unique aesthetics that I tend to hide within each of my projects. While on set, I am super passionate and completely locked into each of my subjects, no matter what. As a musician, I just love the process of creating I love engineering and experimenting while in the studio so that each song is its own unique experience.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Maannn, the lockdown was such an experience. It was super interesting within the creative world because it increased the value of the dedicated in a way that gave so many people looking for a way in the opportunity to participate. During lockdown, I spent a lot of time taking advantage of whatever came my way, by being the hungriest person in the room I was able to expand and work with some very interesting people.
