Community Highlights: Meet Kennedi Price of Exaltedsain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kennedi Price.

Hi Kennedi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story isn’t like every other hair stylist’s story where they started off doing hair as a child. I actually didn’t know what path God wanted to direct me down. I think that I was more so blessed unexpectedly with my skills because of me being lost at a period of my life and always wondering “what’s next” after graduating high school. It was my senior year and everyone was getting all of these acceptance letters. My family and friends were asking consistently what were my plans and to be honest, I didn’t have any. I thought about going to school to become a doctor but I knew that that wouldn’t have made me happy. I knew I wanted to be wealthy but I didn’t quite know how I would make it to see the millions.

I grew up with two very creative siblings. My brother was a rapper known as Bankroll Fresh and my sister is a hairstylist. I use to pray to God asking to reveal my talent. Sometimes I felt like the cursed child out of the bunch. But, like I previously stated, I was blessed unexpectedly! My senior year had finally come around, I booked a hair appointment for the day before school started and the stylist canceled last minute. So I immediately called my sister. She told me it was a busy day for her, so I decided to walk by faith and do my hair on my own. Boy was I nervous lol. I kept trying to talk myself through it but then noticed I didn’t have any supplies. I then went to the beauty supply store grab a few things I seen my sister use before. Finally made it home and instantly got on YouTube as any other curious person would do and the YouTube video walked me throughout the entire process. Once I finished, I was so excited because of the outcome and I immediately went in my mother’s room to show her what I had done. She was super excited more than proud of me.

The next day peers at school were asking me “who did your hair?” Once I told them I had done it, I got such a great response; people were instantly insisting on me doing their hair and of course, I didn’t turn them down. It took me a month after school started from people pressing me to do their hair to finally take it seriously. On September 16, 2021, I started off taking clients in my mother’s living room. It’s so funny because I lied to her saying that I was only doing one person’s hair but I literally took 10 people within my first three days. It was so much traffic throughout our house my parents told me that it was time for me to relocate and take the business elsewhere. My sister and I then looked for suites to work in together and relocated to a nice location. Exaltedsain was supposed to only be a hair company. Exalted- meaning high ranking, and My nephew’s name “Sain” meaning protection against evil influences to bless. Which is now my reason. After being there for about six months, I wanted more space for clients and myself so now Exaltedsain have a home of its own.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, starting off for me wasn’t as hard. Due to the fact I was still in High school; where I was meeting and seeing new people every day. Yes, I had two slow months during my journey December 2021 and January of 2022. After that everything started to pick back up and I was busy as ever. I missed so many events and I have to say it was all worth it. I was always taught Work now Play later. I chose to work and I’m still working to get where I want to be.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Kennedi and I’m the owner of “Exaltedsain”. My job is to satisfy my clients and to make sure my environment is as welcoming as possible. Exaltedsain is a luxury Tape In, Natural Quickweave and Hair business in Atlanta, GA specializing in enhancing tresses with natural, voluminous, versatile extensions. A big difference within my company and other hair companies is the enhancement of tresses with natural. I strive to make every client feel beautiful and confident within their hair. Feels more than an accomplishment that my hair work looks more natural than like weave. I’ve perfected Natural Quick Weaves, installs last the same amount of time as a Sew In and look like Tape-Ins.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
When I started my company a lot of rules from the Crisis were lifted. It honestly didn’t too much affect me.
