Daily Inspiration: Meet Miles Lawson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Lawson.

Hi Miles, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, I’m Miles Trashawn Lawson, and I was born and raised In Rochester, New York, I lived on the east side of town, I grew up the youngest out of three, I have two older brothers (Tracey, Walter). My Mother (Tracy) Was a single strong independent mother, raising three boys on her own. When growing up people always told me I had an old soul, I would lot of time watching Richard Pryor, Tyler Perry movies, I also loved to listen to late 80s and 90’s music. In school I was popular, Many of my friends and teachers, staff described my energy as ” Electrifying ” I would walk into any room and make someone laugh and smile, From a very young age I knew I wanted to entertain people and make people happy for the rest of my life. Starting from the age of seven, I started writing little short drama plays and then I would act them out myself in my room. I grew a strong interest in character development, I knew I wanted to be an actor, it was always my dream and now it’s my biggest goal ever to become a successful and well-developed actor. I graduated high school a year early (2018) Then starting looking for acting schools, I found the college that fitted me so well, Savannah College Of Art & Design. I became a student there and moved down to Savannah, Georgia to advance my studies and pursue my dreams. (2019) While In school I created many different connections, and participated in different events and student films, Once I graduated I moved to Atlanta Georgia (2022), To further advance and amplify my career. So, here I am today here in Atlanta working on building connections and looking for more opportunities to help me pursue my longtime dream.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been more ups than downs in this journey, And I can truly praise God for that, I was 17 years when I moved to Georgia for college by myself. So of course, I had a lot of self-doubts I even dropped out of college after being there for 6 months (July 2019), I was overthinking and got a little homesick, So I came back home to New York, I did a lot of self-reflecting and I knew after reflecting that the best choice was for me to move back to Georgia to continue all the great things that God had In store for me, So I did and It was the best decision I could of did, Since then It seems like everything has went pretty smooth since then, I don’t lose faith when I get turned down for auditions and gigs, I just keep trying I know my blessing is coming soon.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an aspiring actor, and what sets me apart from others is my consistency and my positive outlook on everything and being truly faithful and confident and dedicated to everything I do. I love film/television acting, But I would love to get involved into doing Theatre too soon.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m always so happy and positive and LOUD. People don’t know As dramatic or extra as I may be, I like everything simple, I like walks in the parks and love going to the movies and very family oriented, I love talking to my aunt Wendy she’s my favorite we talk 7-8 times a day. She’s also a star she has her own show on Facebook Live “Morning Coffee with Wendy” for the past EIGHT years. Check her out.
