Today we’d like to introduce you to Precious Wright.
Hi Precious, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born into the hair industry. Having a mother as a salon owner & master Cosmetologist, I grew up naturally involved with hair & beauty. I got into selling hair four years ago with a friend who is also a hair stylist, she taught me how to construct wigs & we had our company for almost a year before we decided to start our own business ventures. My Precious Touch is still a fresh company that has been putting in footwork for almost three years now: from doing pop-up shops, walking through local malls, networking, and just word of mouth! In 2019, I lost my dad in a car accident, he was one of my biggest supporters when I started my first hair business & always told me to “Never give up!” He always kept me on my toes and told me to “run my business with class because you don’t know who’s watching.” My business skyrocketed after his passing because I put my all into my brand and making sure I was satisfying every client’s needs. In 2021, I got pregnant with my daughter who I love to say gave me that push I didn’t know I needed. I was still doing pop-up shops, promoting my brand, and working on wigs my entire pregnancy. She is one now, and since her birth, I’ve rebranded & invested in better-quality products. Since then, I have been working and expanding my vision more and more each day!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth. From being rejected from beauty supply stores about placing my products in there, from close friends not supporting me, to losing my grandmother in early February, the struggles seem nonstop. But my faith allows me to overcome every obstacle!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I make custom glueless wigs with HD lace closures. I love that my wigs can be worn glueless, are very versatile, and are suitable for everyone! One of my best-selling products is my MPT Edge glaze! It promotes hair growth, keeps edges intact all day & leaves no residue behind. I am proud of my edge glaze because women go through so many different products to lay our hair and are never 100% satisfied. However, this edge glaze has become every woman’s favorite.. no matter the hair type or the lifestyle! I feel like what sets me apart from the rest is my resilience. I never let my situation define me.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory was when I moved out to California from South Carolina to pursue my acting career. My mother left her salon back home & we hit the ground running! From auditions, callbacks, and photo shoots to being on set. I remember everything about that experience. Being on national television so young really allowed me to embrace my dramatic side! I enjoyed the stardom for a few years before I wanted to go back to being a “regular kid.”
