Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamari Smith.
Hi Jamari, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was younger, I was very curious and interested in photography and how it worked. I would ask for my mother’s iPhone and take pictures of whatever I thought looked good in the young vision of mine. As I got older, a few of my peers started doing photography themselves. Whenever I got the chance, I would always ask to see their camera. That’s when I began to notice I had a small passion for photography.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far I’ve only been doing photography for 2 months. I haven’t ran into any big struggles yet and I give a big thanks to all my family, peers and close friends such as Jahson, Coolie, Fon, DJ, Trent, and Duece for always giving me a hand when I need it and just being there for moral support. Without them, my journey wouldn’t be so smooth. I’m more than grateful for all the love and support I’ve received so far.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a small photographer, I specialize in sports photography but I can also do work such as portraits, sports mixtapes, etc. I believe that my editing is something that helps me stand out amongst others and I am constantly learning new skills and tactics in order to perfect my craft.
What are your plans for the future?
As of right now, I am preparing to run track at the collegiate level. While studying computer information systems at the Brewton-Parker College, I will be continuing my photography business all throughout college.
