Conversations with Betsy Blair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betsy Blair.

Hi Betsy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. I started my journey as an apprentice and I am now a salon owner. It was always my dream to open my own salon.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am a single mother. Balancing my work life and my home life has always been difficult but I have always found a way to make things work. I have overcome battles with drug addiction, but my passion for the industry has always been my drive to better myself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a hairstylist, business owner, educator and mentor. I specialize in balayage and hair extensions in the salon. I built my salon with my customers in mind. I strive to provide a safe space for all clients no matter their struggles. My stylists and I built this business around making our clients feel beautiful and relaxed.

All of my stylists come from different backgrounds and have fought their own battles in life. We base our work relationship around growth and accountability. We believe that a happy workplace is the foundation for a successful business and happy clients.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Villa Rica is home for me. I love that no matter how much the city grows, it still has that hometown vibe. I also love how much the citizens of this city love small businesses.

My least favorite part of living and working in Villa Rica is the traffic.
