Hidden Gems: Meet SadeAriel Hill of The Fruit Plug

Hi, guys my name is Sade-Ariel Hill better known as The Fruit Plug. What turned out to be “for fun” turned into my passion. 5 years ago, I was home on the phone with my best friend having a conversation about her niece having to do a school project which required making something hands on. We both talked about how we hadn’t remembered the last time we made something hands on. At that moment we put each other to the test and decided to make handmade gifts for each other. Days went by and I still had no clue what to make. As I went in my kitchen, I opened the cabinet and there was a cup from edible arrangement. I instantly knew I had to try making one. Later that day I went out and bought all the products needed to start on my first fruit arrangement. The next day when my best friend came over we exchanged gifts. The fruit arrangement was posted on social media and received wonderful feedback. From that day on I’ve grown so much love and passion for it that I turned it into a business. It took so much test trials and ups and downs to get me to where I am today. I am still learning and growing in this business industry. I enjoy giving back, gifting random people, and just overall putting smiles on customers faces as I bring their display table to life with my fruits.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The biggest struggle I’ve had was during the pandemic. Everything was closed, there was a huge food shortage, and a lot of people were out of work. During that time, I struggled with being depressed, had thoughts of giving up on my business, and just felt lost with not knowing which way to turn. One day after having a talk with a close friend I thought how can I turn a negative situation into a positive? Later that week I started making arrangements and donated them to essential workers all around my area. To see how many hearts I touched helped me understand that in life you will be put in situations, but it’s all about what you do to overcome them. From that day on I’ve always use that to help me get through trying times. Knowing I can turn any negative into something positive and so beautiful is what keeps me motivated to keep pushing.

The Fruit Plug is a fruit catering company offering a myriad of delectable fruit treats and beverages including fruit platters, fruit bouquets, chocolate covered fruit, organic juices, summer treats and many more. The company has been in business for 5 years. We are now located in Atlanta, Georgia and is owned and operated by Sade-Ariel Hill. We offer options for single orders and specialize in catering parties, events, celebrations, holidays, and have what it takes to make any event memorable by adding our treats to your food or dessert display. We also specialize in fruit prepping for those who are on their weight loss journey and/or would like a healthier lifestyle. This year we’ve had the pleasure of making a chocolate covered strawberry letter box for R&B singer Chris Brown, fruit fragrance epsom salts for actress and social media personality Tabitha Brown, and fresh organic juices for public speaker Shantia Dajah.

Without God there wouldn’t be The Fruit Plug. I’m grateful to have been blessed with these creative hands to bring joy to others through my fruits. I also want to thank all of my family, and friends who have been supporting me since day 1.
