Today we’d like to introduce you to Billy CEO.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At the age of two, my cousins and I would tag along with my Grandma Kay to church every day; She was a pastor, and we would be there with her most of the time. My grandma said my eyes would get huge when the praise and worship team would sing. Once, she caught me singing one of the songs the kid’s praise and worship team was singing called “this little light of mine.” My grandma told me I had the biggest and most beautiful voice at that age.
I joined the kid’s choir at four. At this time, my father was actively pursuing his dream as a music artist. I would tag along with him to studio sessions. Let me tell it, my dad was famous; I was amazed at his ability to rap, and during car rides, we would spit bars. Instead of sing-a-longs, we had rap a song lol.
At the age of five, my parents entered me into the school’s talent show; you guessed it, I sang my favorite church song, “this little light of mine” it wasn’t a competition, but if it was best, believe I won. I vaguely remember, but my family confirmed that the entire auditorium stood up, and I received a standing ovation. My mom said I was teary-eyed and just stood there in awe. She had to come on stage and get me cause I was in shock lol.
Fast forward, my father started allowing me to record backup vocals on his tracks, and I became the lead vocalist in the choir I was asked to perform at all the churches and funerals 🙁 Even if I didn’t know the person who passed.
I was in the 2nd grade when my cousin and I wrote our first song. It was two rap verses and a hook. The song was called 203, the time that the school bell rang for dismissal. I remember us rapping the song to my pops and he was very excited and happy.
I continued to write for years beating on lunch tables, hallway walls and bathroom walls rapping and singing every chance I get.
It wasn’t until high school my father really seen my passion for music and the possibility of it becoming a career for me.
He set up a studio session for me at 15 and I recorded my very first song written by him and I called the 3 point bounce. We jammed that record for a whole year…
I became known for my rapping at every school I went too.
Fast forward to now since my musical Journey I have performed at over 100 different venues. I have traveled to many states as an opening act and headliner. I learned to engineer my own music. Mastered my sound and developed myself as a music artist. I’ve opened for artists as big as Lil Wayne, from small clubs to arenas. I have had 4 solid deal offers and declined them all 3 others fell through all in all 7 label offers. I am currently independent with a team of 5 individuals ready to take over 2023 like a storm.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The music business has its ups and downs. The road to success is never a smooth road, there is speed bumps, roadblocks, detours, stop signs, red lights cops, etc.
I have met my share of shiest ppl, janky promoters, fake managers and fake A/R. I am thankful that I never entered into any contracts that locked me into a bad deal.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a music Entertainer & my own engineer.
I specialize in Rapping, singing and songwriting.
I am known for my Lesbian Lifestyle remix and Song Extortion. I’m also known for my performances.
I’m most proud of my consistency, not letting anything stop me from pursuing my dreams. Also performing in Arenas and opening for lil Wayne.
My superpower singing and rapping simultaneously sets me apart from most artists. My sound is unique; I am unlike any artist you have heard. The way I captivate my audience when I perform. Crowd control. And my cadence is crazy. I switch up my flows like my clothes.
