Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan-Nicole Burpo.
Hi Evan-Nicole, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a southern girl originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m an Entrepreneur, content creator and influencer. All my life I’ve been intrigued by the beauty industry and on February 1, 2019 I decided to follow my passion and started my cosmetic line Luxurious Looks Cosmetics.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can definitely say I’ve had some ups and downs when it comes to running a business. There were moments where I wanted to give up and quit, but it was also in those moment I tapped into my faith and grind even harder. In my generation and line of business, I sometimes feel like life is moving quickly and that I should be further than where I am. The biggest lessons I’ve learned is to always stay true to yourself, be consistent and trust in God’s timing. I truly believe you never fail until you actually stop trying. I’m so thankful for all the mistakes I’ve made throughout my journey. I’ve learned from every single one of them and can honestly say it grew me into the amazing businesswoman I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I started my cosmetic line on February 1, 2019 selling signature color lip glosses and eyelash strips. I wanted to expand my business by adding services. I looked into doing eyelash extensions in 2021, By the end of that year, I became a 2x certified lash artist. I specialize in volume sets and is known for being a BOMB lash artist. I plan on expanding my business in 2023 by adding more beauty-enhancing services. Providing a one-stop shop for everything beauty is my ultimate goal. What sets me apart from others is simply being myself. Keeping it real with people and being authentic are the characteristics I value. I believe having a good heart and a great personality plays a big role when running a business.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
One of the biggest things that makes me happy is knowing that my clients are happy and satisfied with my work at the end of every service. Being in my position, I’ve got the chance to build real genuine relationships with my clientele. We all know that life can get pretty hectic at times. Having a place where my clients can come relax, take a nap or even rant about life in a mini-therapy session puts the biggest smile on my face. The goal is to create a safe space for my clients and always to put them first. Without their support, I wouldn’t be where I am today!
