Life & Work with Emmanuel Lozada

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmanuel Lozada.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always being fascinated by science, art and music. I started my photography business around 6 years ago, while I was going to difficult times during my personal life and science career, I started photography as a hobby with the intention of producing videos for the local community until I found the joy, beauty and story in developing portrait and fashion content. I come from a very creative background, my family has been musicians and singers all of their life. Interestingly and unconsciously I always been fascinated to capture those moments behind the scene and capturing the story for all to see. What started as a hobby grew until it became my passion burning stronger each day. I always asked myself why photography? When I always navigated the science careers, but I always remind myself this:

Creativity is intelligence having fun… – Albert Einstein

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
During the process it has been a challenge, juggling 2 careers and having the ability to grow your business and letting it become a full-time experience it has been one of the greatest challenges. Also, creativity comes and goes, and we always have to get the time to always seek and grow this talent. I have understood during my photography road that not everything is about my vision but also to mold myself to help and bring to life other creatives ideas, where necessary my ideas are not the main ones. This has definitely been a challenge and a growing process, but surely it has become the full of my business. This has helped me grasp and take all the experience needed in order to bring my photography business forward.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Lifestyle, Portrait and Fashion photographer based in the Gwinnett Area. I have done photography for 6 years, I specialize myself more in portrait and fashion and where my photography has taken more of a turn for the past years. My photography is more based on telling a story, during the process of a photoshoot I am always looking for what clicks, more than focusing on all the technicality of what a photo requires, the story and the connection is what I’m looking for and known for.

I’m proud of my Journey and background. I have a group of people around me that always push me to keep going and to always grow my creativity, we are constantly looking to feed of each other and following the next steps to our goals. If I see myself three years back, I don’t regret and always encourage what I have become and how I got to where I am. What sets me apart from others is that I am always looking for ways to grow and how to be open-minded and open to receiving direction. I know I don’t know it all and learning from people and creatives that are better than me its always what I strive for.

What are your plans for the future?
Interestingly one of the biggest plan this year is that I will be getting married in February LOL. But aside from that, one of my biggest goals is to publish in two major magazine: Vouge Magazine and Harpers Bazaar, this would be the cherry on top of my career. At the moment I’m working on perfecting my art, work with some local photographers and companies in order to grow a creative community were we stand (I always have pursued this). I’m looking in goals for 5 years to land a publishing in a local magazine where my work shows to others and open a photography studio space in the area in order to call other creatives and improve my art along the way.
