Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Renée.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been an ambitious person. I go for my dreams and believe the possibilities of achieving them are endless. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I was raised by my grandparents for most of my upbringing. This is due to my father being not being around and my mother coming in and out of my life. This caused to me to have a different perspective than achieving the “American Dream” knowing I’d have to work even harder to achieve what I consider success. Without the trials, I have gone through and accepting the opportunities presented to me I would not have made it this far.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Working on my mental health through faith and with support has led me into a new way of thinking. Having grown up in a community where understanding mental health was not prevalent. I was raised to embrace it from my grandmother. At a young age, I did not believe a psychologist would benefit me. Nowadays, seeking mental treatment is not such a “bad thing,” I’ve realized. It’s not meaning that relying on doctors for help is the way out of poverty or helplessness but yet it is holding yourself accountable for the energies individuals allow into the universe that will pave a future for society.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a doctoral student, content creator, educator, and boutique owner I am continuously working toward my dreams. I put 100% into my work and believe that is the only way to work. My #1 goal is to help people recognize their own strengths and abilities. I’ve learned as I recognize my own abilities I become able to assist others. I am mostly known from my content on my Instagram but I do much more than create content. I believe that my ambition and my ability to overlook what other people think sets me apart from others.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is with my grandpa. We used to go to Stone Mountain Park on the regular. I miss those days! There were even times he’d check me out of elementary school to go. Hiking up the mountain or riding the skylift was our main thing. I will never forget those times.
