Life & Work with Tacia Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tacia Taylor.

Hi Tacia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Nola Girl’s Gumbo began as a hobby and blossomed into a highly requested business! I decided one year to sell gumbo for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The sales did so well that I had to begin a legitimate business. My first intention was to only do an e-commerce by shipping the frozen product throughout the United States. I soon realized the vision was much bigger than I anticipated. I continued doing events and getting so many requests until I had to purchase a food truck.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. One of the many struggles was gaining a consistent clientele. The second challenge was marketing with a limited budget. There were many challenges but the key is to persevere although it appears to be easier to just throw in the towel. Consistency and being persistent are the tools to overcoming the many struggles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my professional career, I have been in the legal sector for over 30 years. During that course of time, it helped me discover my purpose in life. That is, helping others become the best versions of themselves. I’m known for molding, encouraging and equipping others to be their absolute best. I am most proud of becoming an author. I wrote a journal which walks you through a 21-day journey to finding your meaning and purpose in life titled The M.A.P.

The chef life has broaden those opportunities for me by allowing me to gather families, friends and even strangers around the table while indulging in delicious comfort food.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I also have a 501(c)3 titled Manna Unlimited. This organization hosts women’s conferences, retreats, fashion shows and other events to help equip, empower and encourage women to live and serve in excellence.
