Daily Inspiration: Meet Christina Chow

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Chow.

Hi Christina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, my parents would take my brother and me on a vacation every summer to see something new. I developed a passion for traveling and also for documenting my adventures through photography. I got my first camera in high school and used it non-stop, always posting photos in Facebook albums and on Instagram so I could remember all the places I had visited. Eventually, friends and family members started to ask me for recommendations for their trips. I created my first Instagram page that I actively post on, @cwissio.travels, dedicated to travel recommendations to help others plan itineraries and get advice on what to see and do in different cities. Recently, I realized that I spend most of my time at home in Atlanta and have a never-ending list of things to do and eat in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. I created @cwissioinatlanta because my hometown is someone else’s tourist destination, and I love providing advice to visitors or even locals just looking for a new spot to eat at or a new activity to try. I can’t wait to continue this journey!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of this journey has been fun and exciting, especially getting the opportunity to work with some brands and businesses that I love! It has been difficult to balance content-creating with having a full-time job, and sometimes it can be difficult to think of new creative ways to share information that stands out from other creators. I also did not get help from other creators or bloggers because I didn’t know anyone in the field in the beginning, so I had to figure out how to utilize my page on my own over time through trial and error. Overall though, posting my experiences around Atlanta brings me so much joy and is actually more of a stress reliever than anything!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create content featuring the best things to do and eat around Atlanta and the surrounding areas. I post about my favorite local businesses and newly opening restaurants. As an Asian American, one of my goals is to promote as many Asian-owned businesses around the area as possible and create a community for people to share their ideas and get together at new and fun places in Atlanta. I am most proud of the person I have become, and even though I am a little weird, I think that’s what also sets me apart and makes me unique!

What were you like growing up?
I was always interested in art and learning new things as a child. I was very quiet and still am, but I am now more adventurous and love trying new things and meeting new people! I was always interested in photography and used to use disposable cameras, phones, etc to take photos of everything I did. I think this is where my passion for content creating and blogging about my life began and will continue!
