Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Garrity.
Hi Nick, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After almost 20 years and the fitness and wellness industry, I finally decided to go off and start a new venture with my partner opening alloy personal training franchises all over the city! My background is a former performance coach working at colleges and private facilities before entering into the franchise world four years ago. Now we are looking to strategically open as many alloy franchises that we are able to in the next 5 to 10 years. I have also helped a different business partner start a moving company here in greater Atlanta. There have been many lessons learned and countless more on the way!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As many people have likely stated, personnel and hiring has been the hardest part for sure. Things have really changed during the pandemic making it even tougher!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Over the last four years, I helped start over 20 businesses all over the country, from dog daycares to stretching studios to infrared sauna studios. Now we will be building and managing personal training studios all over the city. I’m proud of the transition I made from being a performance coach to a development Director, having to learn all of the ins and outs of commercial real estate, construction and business development!
I think one of the things that potentially sets me apart is my true compassion and empathy for others that I work with. I’ve always said I would rather get in trouble for giving out too many high-fives than for being someone that speaks down to others etc.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like that it has so much to offer. From the money restaurants and business opportunities too the vast amount of entertainment options and golf courses there is always something to do! I don’t like that there are certain areas that you still feel relatively unsafe and worried about my wife and daughter in certain environments.
