Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Aaron.
Hi Darius, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Well, It all started with my mom Kesia Jackson who got me into skating when I was like 6 or 7 years old with my sister. She would take us to the rink on family nights at cascade skating rink. Where I could only go forward and backward nothing to crazy.
Fast forward a couple of years I’m 12 or 13, I believe my church that I went to Dodd Sterling Chruch would have specific days that we go skating. I believe it was Thursdays. LOL, I may be wrong but this where I met some of my skate friends Mike, Clifford, Brenn and some others can’t remember them all. This is where I purchased my own pair of skates, thanks to my mom and grandma. I wanted to go skating even more because it was sooo much fun. Specially the games we played. Like red light green light, Tag, to even racing. It was sooo much fun to but as I got older Things started to change for me.
I found a new interest Skateboarding! Which was fun but also very painful haha. I met some of my closes of friends that I have to this day. It was like a bother hood that we had and with us skateboarding we wanted to show our skillz so we started filming or selves with our little metro phones and we would post them to Instagram here and there to get some type of traction. Skateboarding was fun but I knew I couldn’t do it forever.
So after high school, I stopped skateboarding and slowly but surely got back into skating. The first thing I told myself is that I was going to with Push The Smoothest Dude I knew on skates. Luckily when I started to go back up to cascade, I saw him More and more. I approached him and just ask him can you show me how to skate smooth as you. All he said was just “just follow behind me and I will show you”. From that moment he showed me his style and I incorporated into my own. As Time moved along, I wanted upgrade my skates from speed skates/ jam skates to a full-on boots that I saw most skaters skating in.
That’s when everything changed for me literally. I started to learn new moves and do moves that I really couldn’t do in my jam skates. I will say my all-time favorite style is G-sliding me and my boy Richie and with the help of Ride the beat skate Crew came up with some dope and very ubique routines. This is what really brought a lot of individuals to my Instagram. I started to get reposted by my friends and people I’ve never even met. Me I was hella surprised seeing that. I wouldn’t believe that I would have so many eyes looking at me and the things that I did. I’m still blown at it to this day!
To add in a couple more things I skated in my first ever music video by Sean Christopher “girls”. From there getting bookings for Tv shows like P-valley as an extra for skating. Then I did my biggest movie production by Raul Alejendro. We Rehearsed for 3 days straight making the chore of adapting to new things it was crazy. Plus, that music video was the longest shoot I ever did. Stay a full 16 hours on set. My voice was completely gone and still had to work that next day. Ya boi was tired
Things did slow down for a bit and rapidly picked up. I was called to skate in a music video for Usher and City girl for their song “Good Love” which was a whole vibe. Then from there on my way to work my Coach aka Msss.Kamile hit me saying “Bam you free Wednesday through Sunday”. I was like I can make myself free. Low and behold this opportunity…. a chance to perform at the NBA Finals at Warriors home court in San Fransico. I couldn’t believe that I was going to do this. I was excited, nervous, happy and blessed. I went out there with my Team ” Cascade Dream Team”.
To wrap everything up I will say this Life will put opportunity in front of you and you will never know when they will happen, So you need to discipline yourself even when times get hard, stay consistent even when you don’t want to. Trust me I know it’s hard and lastly be humble and keep your head up you got this.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say my one main obstacle would be my work. I am a full-time employee at Microsoft as a Senior Customer Success Trainer. I do my best to make sure I take care of my clients and with the support of my team that really helped me to achieve some of these goals/ dreams.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a customer Success Trainer for Microsoft. The Organization that I am under is DSS in short Direct Sales and Success. We are in charge of supporting EDU/ and small to medium size corporations in training over Microsoft Products for their end users.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I would say they can email me or send me a dm on IG. I’m always down to collaborate and create something cool and interesting
