Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Stevenson.
Hi Kyle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Ran track for the University of Tennessee and had a successful career for someone that came in as a walk-on (non-scholarship) athlete. Ran professionally for two years and decided to start coaching after a bad season. Bounced around cities early in my collegiate coaching career until I landed in Atlanta in August 2017. I started coaching at Georgia State as an assistant and starting my athletic performance company the spring of 2018. Summer of 2019 I was promoted to Head Coach of Track and Field at Georgia State University and my business took and has been growing ever since. I’m currently in my 3 seasons as Head Coach and looking to add more NFL players to my roster of clients with my personal business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Far from a smooth road, but it has always been a straight path.
Quality time has been my biggest sacrifice on my career journey. I’ve missed quality time with family, friends, intimate partners during this journey, but that time lost has been worth it because it was on temporary.
I was willing to sacrifice a few short years to enjoy decades of success and quality time with those I love. Now I’m in a position where we all are able to enjoy the achievements that I’ve received.
Finding a partner that understood my vision was a challenge and still can be from time to time with my now fiancé. So many people require my attention, and that can be unfavorable when a partner doesn’t want you to be shared, no matter the reason. However, I do my best to maximize my time and attention with her and our daughter and I don’t allow anything or anyone to interfere with our time.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a track and field coach. I specialize in helping athletes run faster, jumper higher/farther.
I’m known for creating champions in any sport and helping your favorite NCAA/NFL players run past everyone on the field. I’ve been nicknamed the cheat code in my inner circle because I’ve been a game-changer for so many athletes.
I am most proud of all the athletes I help receive degrees from college and helping them reach their full athletic potential. It pays more dividends to see the joy in their eyes and families’ eye when they cross the stage or make a huge play that shocks everyone watching.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m not a household name but I’m very well known. So that means my work speaks for itself. I’m authentic and raw. With that, everyone loves my transparency and genuineness because they know I won’t BS them around in business and I’ll give them the best direction possible in their career decisions.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have a strong relationship with God and that means I have a strong relationship with self. But I speak and pray to gain knowledge and understanding.
My high school coach, John Roberts, May he Rest In Peace is the one that convinced me that I was better than the credit I was giving myself. He thought highly of me before I could on my own.
My family they’ve never really understood my journey but have always been supportive no matter how far or close I am to them.
My fiancé, she has had my back and has been one of my biggest cheerleaders. I’m able to have difficult conversations and vent the stresses of my career to her and she pushes me to take breaks when needed to I can continue to move forward.
