Daily Inspiration: Meet LeQuan Mack

Today we’d like to introduce you to LeQuan Mack.

Hi LeQuan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My culinary journey seriously started Sophomore year of college while I was attending Bethune Cookman University. I had just landed a job at Chart House as the Garde Manger and I began to build from there. After accepting an offer as a Chef Manager for Atlanta Public Schools via Sodexo – Jackmont I packed up my apartment in Daytona Beach and set off to Atlanta where I have been living for the past 6.5 years. While in Atlanta I have worked as a Chef in Atlanta night life and fine dining. I created my own Chef Affishall brand in 2017 and it has slowly gained its traction. In 2023 I plan on focusing in on my own brand and taking it to new levels!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, the road hasn’t been smooth at all. There has been countless losses in the pursuit of steady entrepreneurship, I have been sidetracked with life events and self-doubts of my own talent. Numerous dead ends and partnerships have fallen through, even throwing events while underfunded. All these things have shaped myself and my business into what it has become today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Private Chef and I also curate small intimate culinary events. I am most proud of my journey to where I am in regard to being a respected individual in the culinary scene. What sets me apart from others is my ability to couple food and ambiance to bring a vibrant memorable experience to my guests.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Currently, I am searching for apps, books, podcasts, blogs and other resources that’ll help me be more creative and efficient when it comes to bettering the Affishall brand. So if you or anyone else have any recommendations, I’m all ears!
