Check Out Boss Pix’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Boss Pix.

Hi Boss, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
First off I want to thank you for having me on your interview. I am honored and truly appreciate the opportunity. My name is Lee Morrison so know me ass Lee, BossedUp or Bosspix. I was born in Pittsburgh but raised elsewhere. I moved back to Pittsburgh when I was 21 to reconnect back to my roots & where it all started. I have accomplished so much in my 27 years. I’ve done worked in the Dental industry, security industry, jewelry industry. Now I’m sorta trying to find my purpose in the entrepreneurial industry

Art is something I’ve always been interested in. I say art because that’s what photography is. Its creativity created by an artist. I feel like I always had an eye for it but never had the mindset to go full throttle with my dreams. I bought my ideas to my ex-partner & told her I think I am ready to put in the work to become one of the best photographers. She wasn’t to thrilled by it at first but once she did her research and seen how impacting photography is she began to invest into me. Once I got all of the beginner equipment I needed, it was game time. I got my first studio about 4 months after I started putting myself out there. Before I was shooting in my home but it just wasn’t fulfilling my expectations. I wanted my sessions w my clients to feel real. My work & quality is so great that my business picked up tremendously unexpectedly. I was not expecting to shoot over 100 people in less then a year. So far my work has been published 2x in magazines. I’m currently in the process of officially relocating to ATL this spring.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No! Of course as a beginner business owner, you don’t have it all together. Running a black-owned business does not come with a manual. I’ve taken losses. I’ve had difficult clients. But to overcome those objectives I used my losses at a lesson. It showed me what not to do going forward. There are nights I don’t sleep because the expectations of my clients will always be at a high standard.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As stated earlier, I am a photographer. I specialize in making each and every client I come across vision come true. I play a role in making others happy. I am most proud of how far I’ve came within 2 years. I have worked with soo many people. A couple “celebrities”. I have been flown out to major cities to work. I’m truly blessed not everyone has had the opportunities I had. I feel like my mindset is what makes me different from the rest. I’m always looking for ways to grow & improve my techniques. My style & quality separates me from the rest. You know my work when you see my work.

Any big plans?
I can’t quite reveal & speak on my plans for the future but know it’s something big for the culture. I feel like photographers don’t get the recognition they should. This career is not easy! Trying to satisfy everyone is not easy. A lot of people sleep on our hard work, dedication, etc. Anyone can pick up a camera but it’s more than just doing that when you have higher expectations & goals of being a professional photographer.
