Conversations with K. Noel Jordan

Today we’d like to introduce you to K. Noel Jordan.

Hi K. Noel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
At a young age, I joined the gang culture. I didn’t feel that my life had any meaning or purpose. My motto was “I was living for nothing and had to get it how I live.” The street life was my addiction and drug, the only addiction I faced. It was a place where I felt I belonged and had meaning. Occasionally, I felt a tug that there was something better for me, but I ignored it.

On June 4, 2003, my life changed. The police raided the place where I was dealing drugs, and it was then that God spoke to me, saying “turn to Me or else.” I knew I had to stop ignoring the tug and give in to it. Like I tell others, if we keep ignoring what God is trying to show us, He will eventually put us in a corner where we have to turn to Him and what He is teaching us.

After that moment, I spent 2 months in Bibb County Jail and 3 months in Bootcamp. During those 5 months, I spent a lot of time getting to know God and had the opportunity to speak life into other men I was locked up with. I made a major impact during those times. Once I was released, I eventually became an ordained minister. But, in the midst of that, while serving as Vice President and eventually President of the Macon State College (now called Middle Georgia State University) Chapter for Student African American Brotherhood (S.A.A.B.), my life took a turn again.

In S.A.A.B., I was not only like the big brother of the group but also the glue. The Secretary, President and myself (as Vice President) had the opportunity to go to the S.A.A.B. conference. It was there that I heard Kirk Nugent, a motivational speaker, who changed my life and birthed the passion for becoming a motivational speaker. I didn’t pursue that passion right away but in 2020, my passion grew. That is when I began pursuing it. I wrote my second book, #BeRelentless, in 2020 and have two more books that have yet to be released.

My passion is to show others to be relentless. Despite the noise of all of the negative things people have said, despite the noise of your own insecurities and fears, you can move past that and be relentless. For me, being relentless means that though we will face fears and doubts, we will push past them and become the best version of ourselves. It means when we face obstacles, we will persevere through them, make necessary adjustments and be the best we can be. We will not play the small giant but become the big giant. That is why I am the Relentless Motivator, while facing the same things that you face, I still push myself past the everyday challenges, because I know how it is, and if someone has to go ahead and pave the way, it will be me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth journey, but if it were, I would probably question some things. There have been constant challenges of insecurity or feeling less than, which I have had to push myself past. There have been financial challenges and even the challenges of “how to.” And of course, there were times I wanted to quit it all, but nonetheless, I remained relentless and found a way out.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am coming to admit that I am a man of many talents. Firstly, I am a motivational/inspirational speaker and author. I am also a podcaster and podcast coach. Additionally, my newly formed business is a social media manager.

As the Relentless Motivator, when I come as a speaker, writer, and coach, I teach you not only how to become something, but also how to keep going. Many times, people teach you how to do something but not how to keep going. We have to be real and see that not everyone has a team or can afford one starting off, so I teach you how to make things simple and yet effective by yourself.

As a social media manager, I not only create the content for you, but I also keep you in mind. We will take a look at your social media analytics to see what needs to be done to get more eyes to see your platform and make it known that you are. I also give you a clean and impactful look that lets people know that you are here!

One of the things that I am most proud of and will forever be proud of is the impact. Whether it is as a speaker, author, podcaster, or even the content I make for other people, I love to see the impact I make for other people and the change in their lives.

How do you define success?
Success for me is seeing or hearing the impact that my work has on people’s lives. From speaking to content creation, the impact, whether big or small, means so much more to me than money can buy because a life is priceless, and there are people who are stuck in purpose and they need a push or to be re-ignited to keep going. I come as the one to give them the push they need or connect the cables and give them the jump start, the energy they need.
