Today we’d like to introduce you to Gail Moore.
Hi Gail, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In the beginning, Joseph and I were members of another Jeep club. When that club disbanded, we decided to start a club of our own. On June 19, 2021, Urban Jeep Squad Club came to life. That day is significant for us because it is Juneteenth, a national holiday for African Americans. We are the largest all Melanin Jeep Club in the Middle GA area. We are a non-profit community based club, as well as an LLC that gives back to the less fortunate, as well as the fur babies.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, it has been a relatively smooth road. We have had a few minor challenges, but nothing we didn’t bounce back from. I am a true believer that nothing worthwhile comes easy. Anytime you have a group of people together, personalities may clash, or someone may not agree with how you run your business. People are not always going to see your vision, or have the same drive that you have to accomplish what you started. At the end of the day, you will never be able to please everyone; therefore, you have to make decisions that are in your best interest, along the way, to make sure your vision is successful.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Urban Jeep Squad Club?
We are here for the community. Every event we have organized has been based on an event for the city, or just bringing the Jeep and car club community together to vibe through car shows and car meets, just for the love of cars. We have collaborated with Boss Ryderz and the Car Clubs of the 478 in community give back events for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and will do the same in 2023.
We are best known for bringing the city out! Our events have far exceeded our expectations and we are so proud of what we have accomplished with only being a club for a little over a year.
We are not sure what sets us apart from others. We talk about that from time to time, and wonder what the allure is with Urban Jeep Squad Club. We have 26 members at this time, and it’s always a great vibe when we link up. We travel out of state to national jeep events, we also have family oriented events within our club, to show appreciation to our members. We may not know exactly what it is about us, but we are thankful, and humbled that people support us as they do. We work hard, stay in our lane, and put in the effort; therefore, we are able to reach our goals. We have been given a platform and we plan to use it to the best of our ability.
Our biggest flex thus far pertaining to our brand is receiving permission from the Jeep Corporation to use the Jeep likeness in our logo and on our merchandise. That is a big deal and rarely happens! For Jeep to reach out and give us permission, really set the bar pretty high for us. We feel like we are in a better position to do bigger things and reach more people within our community and abroad.
We are always looking for new active members to join our squad, so if you have a Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator, contact us for more information.
Our services include birthdays, community service projects, photos/video shoots, prom transportation, wedding party transportation and local ride outs.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I am definitely a risk taker! I feel if you don’t step out and take risks, you will never know what you can accomplish when the odds may not be in your favor. I have applied that philosophy to my personal and business life, as well as to the Jeep squad. My business partner Joseph is not as much of a risk taker as I am, so he keeps me grounded when he thinks I am beginning to take on too many challenges. He is the mastermind behind deciding what events we will commit to, and how we promote them, so we have a good dynamic.
We have definitely taken several risks since we have been a squad, and thankfully they have all worked out in our favor! We will be taking a major risk this year with a new venture and we are excited to see this new opportunity prosper as well!
On March 18th in Warner Robins, GA from 6:00PM-9:00 PM, we will host an event, 2 Litty In The City Glow Meet. This event is for Jeeps, Trucks, Cars, Bikes and Slingshots. If you have under glow lights, rock lights, or custom LED lights, we would like for you to come out and vibe with us. We are going to light the city up! All spectators are welcome as well.
