Life & Work with Brianna Holley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Holley.

Hi Brianna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I started out doing my own makeup during my senior year of high school because it was so hard to get appointments for every single event going on living in a rural area. After a while, a couple of people began to tell me I should take makeup more seriously but I was focused on college. That was until my professor gave me a project and I had to write a paper about my favorite hobby and provide pictures. I called one of my friends whose a model and asked to do her makeup for the project and she agreed. After getting amazing feedback about how talented I was from my professor, I posted the pictures on Facebook and that’s when my business took off.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lol, It has definitely not been a smooth road. In the midst of me doubting my own talent and turning down clients, I lost my home in a house fire in January of last year. So, it was a challenging time mentally for me. If it had not been for that project, I probably would not be doing makeup today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have my retail business, Breezy”s Boujee Kollection, where I’ve been known for selling the best quality mink lashes for years. I also have my makeup artistry, Holleywood Beatz, which has quickly grown since April of 2022. I’m hoping to rebrand and combine the two businesses soon.

Lol, I’m most commonly known for selling lashes and doing makeup simply because I started so young at the age of 15. Even when I see people in public who don’t know my name, they know my work.

That’s a great feeling and one of the things that makes me the proudest, knowing that I’ve built a brand and made a name for myself at such a young age in spite of every obstacle that has come my way. I’m also proud of the fact that I know how to hustle. Simply meaning, I will literally turn nothing into something.

I feel like what sets me apart from others is the fact that I don’t see competition in the business industry and that I love working and trying to grow with others. I just feel like what’s for me is FOR ME. No one can change that and I’m also very talkative so hearing things from other people’s viewpoints when we’re networking and only help me become a more effective and efficient businesswoman.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am definitely a risk-taker, but I like to call it stepping out on faith. I’m just very impulsive all around. The moment I have a vision, I pray to make sure my vision aligns with God’s vision for me and I pursue it. I don’t consult with anyone else, I just get things done. For example, I started planning my first Sip & Shop event for Valentine’s Day in December. I told my family about the event on Christmas Eve and they thought I was joking because it was a spur-of-the-moment thing that I had never mentioned before until I was sending them the rough draft of my flyers that dropped on New Year’s at midnight. So, I have never been one to just sit back and think about the “what-if” outcomes or support from others, because God comes through for me every time and all of my help comes from him.
