Check Out Brittany Elizabeth’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Elizabeth.

Brittany Elizabeth, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From a young age, I loved Fashion. I knew I wanted to be part of that industry somehow. I started off my career in Visual Merchandising and loved creating mannequin looks, window displays and product merchandising within the store. Later on, I realized that I really enjoyed created outfit looks. Which brought me into styling. During college, I would work as a freelance stylist on photoshoots throughout the Bay Area. I was even given the opportunity to style a photoshoot overseas in London and the photos were published in a magazine. As a 21-year-old that was truly one of the highlights of my life. As I grew older I was able to work for amazing brands and was able to be creative but also knowledgeable on the business side. Later in my career, I transitioned from VM/ Styling into Marketing/ Event Planning. Where I was able to create amazing experiential experiences for consumers.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path definitely hasn’t been easy. I think deciding at a young age what direction I wanted to pursue and sticking to it was difficult. Not pursuing the “normal” career path, especially coming from an Asian household. I had people doubting my ability to succeed and to make money. The Fashion Industry is already difficult, it definitely takes a tough individual to navigate through that world.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My day to day job is a Retail Marketing Manager and I love what I do. I’m able to create strategy for brands within the retail space. Outside of that creating content for brands, styling photoshoots, event planning and set designing for companies. I’m definitely proud of how far I’ve come. Taking the things I love and making a career out of it.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid taught me to slow down a bit. 2019 I was working non stop and I barely had time for myself. Covid really put everything at a standstill. No one wanted to do events and the world was shut down. I didn’t have work and I had to really be in my space. I was able to take time for myself, sit with myself and figure out what can I make with the situation I’m in.
