Meet Kyla Stimpson

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kyla Stimpson. Kyla was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Christen Funderburk.

Hi Kyla, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’m Kyla Elizabeth, Visual Artist and Designer, born and based in Winston-Salem, NC. I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t know it. I didn’t understand what it meant to be an Artist. I didn’t understand that I had the power to heal my negative emotions by expressing them through creating.
From visual art to music I’ve been artistically inclined since I was a young child. After a long year of not pursuing any creative projects I made a decision to begin creating again. In August 2021 I started to use my creative energy to create affordable jewelry for family and friends. Throughout the year I started to expand by vending at art markets and events. The more events I participated in the more my customer base began to expand. I moved my art studio from my house into AFAS: Art For Art’s Sake located in Downtown Winston-Salem.

Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
My work is inspired by my dynamic, consistent eerie and positive thoughts. As an Artist i’ve learned in order to create I have to destroy and recreate. Many of my pieces are recycled segments from older pieces, scraps, and sketchbooks. I am drawn to contrasting colors, shapes, lines and textures. In order to create texture and depth, I incorporate torn book paper, documents, and sketches in majority of my works. I use continuous circles to symbolize the existence of ancestors contributing to my creative practice. I truly believe that my ancestors guide me through my creative process, allowing. me to explore various ideas and mediums. Each stroke of paint or stitch of thread is a binding connection between my ancestors and myself. Throughout the year I vend at different locations locally, and travel to different festivals outside of North Carolina selling; Original Paintings, Jewelry, Sketchbooks, Journals and more. Kyla Eliza Fine Arts & Design Studio is located inside of AFAS: Art’s For Art’s Sake. The Studio is open during First Friday Gallery Hops, and Special events listed on the Shop page of the website. I also offer Paint Parties, Take Home Paint Kits and Art Lessons the can also be purchased and booked through my website. You can also purchase my art & jewelry at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Christen Funderburk and Lizzies All Natural Products and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Lizzies All Natural Products .
The You Glow Girl Skintervention has been a over all life changer. I’ve always suffered from having acne and dry patches on my skin. The soap cleanses smoothly and to the pores. The toner removes all excess dirt and my favorite product in the set is the serum, it keeps my face moisturized all day! I also have a collection of the Artisan Soaps ! My favorite soaps are Sandy Rose and Galaxy Lavender. Lizzie is as amazing as her product line.

After trying nearly ALL of her products I’ve realized that I’m not interested in using any other product than Lizzie’s. I suggest everyone to get a You Glow Girl Facial from Lizzie’s All Natural Spa. Her personality is phenomenal and she is an inspiration to myself and many others. Lizzie has played a part in making a significant difference in my personal health journey. If you’re having issues with beauty needs or you’re ready for a natural approach to heal skin Lizzie All Natural products is for you !
