Today we’d like to introduce you to Tron Don.
Hi Tron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. I think wrote my first rhyme at like eight years old. My dad kind of got me started in music. He introduced me to a lot of music and let me explore from there. He also let me record my first song. I started getting into songwriting around middle school. This turned into me recording myself in my bedroom at 15 in high school. My pops saw what I was doing and helped me buy my first official recording setup. I dropped my first mixtape titled “481”, and it got me a lot of attention at school. From there I started perfecting my craft. I learned how to mix and master my own music and distribute it myself. From there I was able to build a fan base by consistently putting out music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely not been smooth. What’s life without obstacles though? Going after your dreams always comes with some kind of resistance. For me, it’s always been challenging getting people to understand my vision. Basically getting them to see the bigger picture.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional recording artist. Rap is my favorite genre of music, but I experiment a lot. I am most proud of my art. That’s something that I struggled a lot with in the past. Just being able to appreciate the work I did. I was kinda caught up in the idea of chasing perfection, so I wasn’t always satisfied with my work.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by happiness. How content I am with who and what I am in life is a measure of true happiness.
