Rising Stars: Meet Ryan Champion

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Champion.

Hi Ryan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my makeup artistry journey about eight years ago and started doing it online almost seven years ago. After my mother passed, I needed some sort of emotional outlet and I found that in makeup. Now I have turned my passion into a career that grows every day. Im affiliated with brands, I’ve grown an amazing and loyal audience on social media and I’ve been on television. I continue to express myself through my artistry with women who also have an interest in the art of makeup.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Content creation absolutely has its ups and downs. Some days you feel like your content makes a difference and other days it kind of flops. I continue to create because it’s what I love to do, but there are times that I’m uninspired and I have to find inspiration so I can continue to be consistent. My supporters are the ones that keep me in it. Their love and support keep me motivated. I love connecting with them through my art, teaching them different techniques, and helping them with areas that they are struggling with as far as makeup application. Every day I hope to make my mother proud.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a makeup artist, content creator, and former contestant on the makeup competition show “Painted With Raven”. L create makeup and beauty and occasionally style content. I love to do glam with an edge and I’ve also done creative more advanced makeup as well. I also do live makeup tutorials Monday through Friday on TikTok. Im affiliated with a few Indi Makeup brands and have been posted on some mainstream makeup brand socials such Anastasia Beverly Hills and the Crayon Case. I always try to connect with my audience on a personal level. I’m always transparent and try to give the best of myself to my audience. I think the connection I have with my audience is something that sets me apart. I love to include my supporters in the curation f my art and be a source of help for them. I create a comfortable inclusive environment where people are comfortable to ask questions. My proudest moments in my makeup career include getting my first repost on the Crayon Case Page, my time on Painted With Raven and my palette collaboration with Slay Ready Cosmetics. Slay Ready Cosmetics and I collaborated in the curation of the Icebreaker Palette, currently for sale on SlayReadyCosmetics.com. These milestones really gave me the reassurance that needed to keep going in this heavily saturated field of work.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I want to thank my supporters and also my offline support. I can honestly say that I have had my whole family’s support 100 percent. They’ve always supported me and made me feel that I can take my career as far as my heart desires. I will be forever grateful. Huge thank you to My Fiancé JeRoi Mcdaniel and my son Harley Mcdaniel.
