Today we’d like to introduce you to Blade Brown BMF.
Hi Blade, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I showed an interest in the art of spoken word at an early age. By the age of 5, i was writing poetry myself. Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina but raised in Dayton, OH, I began to pursue this hobby at an early age. In grade school, I won many talent shows with my poetry skills and created a fan base at an early age because of it. At the age of 12, I was selected to be in a talent showcase for music and poetry and decided to give recording a try shortly thereafter. In the beginning, I formed a rap group and started promoting and performing with the group. With no success with developing a team of professionals to guide me, I decided to stop the pursuit of being a rapper and turned my focus to basketball. During my high school years and also while in college, I played on the varsity basketball team and was being scouted to become professional. In early 2005, I met back up with an old friend and decided to give music a try again, but as a dancer instead. Becoming known as one of the best male hip-hop dancers in the state of Ohio, I begin to see what success would be like and didn’t like being in the background. With me being unsatisfied with being the great mover behind another performer, I retired from dancing. Still eager to find my true calling, in 2007 I was introduced to a music producer and began recording again. With a new producer and a new outlook on what my calling was, I began to create a buzz with my first single “Charley Broun” and then with my next single “U Here” feat (Branu). I was rewarded with Best Performer of the Year! shortly after my release of the Charley Broun song, I made a video for the song and put it on MySpace, it got discovered by a A&R from Universal records! I signed a distribution deal with IMG/Universal Records! I went on tour for 6months! While on tour I met a lot of ppl! Came back home and began to make more music, I had became a local celebrity in my hometown Dayton OHIO because my music was on the local radio station!
Back then our radio station wasn’t playing independent artists at all! I started making music with a Group called D.B.M. Which also had a huge buzz at the time! Which my Brother and my Big brother were also involved! We traveled to Atlanta ga often and our flashy cars and music buzz caught the eyes of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family! We signed a deal with BMF entertainment inc and started working with young jeezy and more artists! Shortly after that Big Meech went to prison, My Older Brother went missing for a year and got found dead! I took a break from music for a while after that! Still hungry and eager to keep my Brothers dream alive I moved back to the atl and that’s when mama Juice found me! BMF First Lady juice! Which was like a sister to me! She was the marketing manager for BMF Entertainment! She passed away in 2016. After that I took another break from music!! 2 years later I got back into and I began recording music again. Meanwhile the BMF tv series on Starz releases, at this time I’m signing a contract with Mamas Management based in Atlanta ga! I Released a Single called ” Look at it” which blew up the charts! Immediately started performing all over the United States! After a short period of time I released another Single called “B.M.F.. Which also blew up the charts! Currently I’ve gotten into acting as well and now featuring in a couple of movies releasing Early 2023! With New music coming out, new movie appearances I truly believe this is my year!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Loosing important ppl in your world could be life changing! I’ve lost a lot of loved ones and they are the reason I go so hard! I have to keep there names alive! ” RIH Mama juice”, Donta EDWARDS”!! Also there are people that was there for me in the beginning and somehow life just happens and we lost touch! My motivation is to keep going not only for myself but for all of the ones I’ve lost along the way! This journey is about loyalty!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Right now I’m focused on making music and I’ve recently just got into acting! I’m currently in 3 upcoming movies and one tv series! I’m also just trying to spread positivity around the world! Through great music and charity events! I’ve been involved in feeding the homeless, some celebrity basketball games and food drives!

I’d like to give thanks To God, my mom, my family for believing in me! My Management team ” mamas Management” Big meech and the BMF family! The whole city of Dayton OHIO! Every person who has heard any of my music! Everyone that checks on me every day! All the fans!! The ones that have been there with me since 2005! And most of all I’d like to thank all my haters!
